Worked in the Orians Lab at Tufts University focused on the relationship between hemlock trees (Tsuga Canadensis) and the invasive species hemlock woolly adelgid (Adelges tsugae). Developed as an independent project with supervision from Robert Schaeffer throughout Spring 2015 and included field and laboratory data collection techniques.

Los Amigos Biological Station, Madre De Dios, Peru

Collected data for research lead by Dara Adams, a behavioral anthropology Ph. D. Candidate at Ohio State University. Lived at the CICRA field station in the Peruvian portion of the Amazon Rainforest for seven weeks collecting a variety of ecosystem data focused on the bald-faced saki monkey, a species endemic to the region.

Shelter Island, New York

Worked as a full and part time sailing instructor at Shelter Island Yacht Club, coaching children ages 5-18 from fundamentals to racing technique.

Long Island, Ny

Acted as a intern for the Long Island branch of The Nature Conservancy from Spring to Fall 2011. Under mentor Nicole Maher, was taught various data collection techniques aimed at assessing the qualitative and quantitative health of Long Island's salt marshes. These included Surface Elevation Tables (SET platforms), feldspar plots, laser elevation recordings, and identification of plants. Much of this data was then compared to water elevation rise to determine the potential effects of climate change on Long Island. Also assisted with projects to determine the effects of invasive intertidal crab species on marshes. This included monitoring crab traps and sexing those captured.
