About Amanda Swanson

I am a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota with my MPH in Epidemiology and a minor in Biostatistics. I am currently working at the Minnesota Department of Health as a Student Worker in the Vaccine Preventable Disease section. Most of the work I do includes influenza surveillance, but I also take part in Varicella and Pertussis surveillance, a TDaP case-control study and Ebola active travel monitoring as well. I also started a second job through Health News Review reviewing news releases and stories regarding treatments and interventions. I gained some clinical trials experience over the Summer of 2015 volunteering as a Research Associate at Hennepin County Medical Center. I am passionate about learning more and hope to contribute as much as I can to the field of Epidemiology and Public Health.
