Having worked for various recruitment agencies, and specialising in new start ups, I made the decision to set up and run my own, successful recruitment agency, supplying both ad-hoc and full time HGV drivers, into the industry, specialising in store distribution, construction and waste sectors. Throughout this period I have maintained an excellent knowledge of all the legislation and regulations associated with these roles, including UK employment laws, Agency Workers Regulations, Working Time Directive, Drivers hours both Domestic and EU, monitoring and recording of drivers hours and an understanding of the requirements needed for the accreditations such as Freight Operators Recognition Scheme, and The Construction Logistics and Cycle Safety scheme.During this role I also acted as the Key Account Manager for several large clients, this role also involved driving the scope for revenue and profit within the business through the establishment of performance targets while retaining full responsibility for the payroll of 50 contractors and four full-time staff.

Having been headhunted from a previous role to become the Driving Division Area Manager of Nationwide Contracts this role involved the establishment of three new branches in Rugby, Bristol and Enfield.I was charged with retaining all of the company’s existing clients in addition to personally developing both the candidate and client database.In addition, I acted as an exceptional representative of the company, including in a role as Account Manager for all larger contracts, including Woolworths, sainsburys, Iceland and Royal Mail, I utilised advanced management skills in the leadership of all activities within the area, due to my success I was given further responsibility also for overseeing the Birmingham branch.

I was employed as the Key Account Manager for the Hemel Hempstead branch, following the new acquisition of the Next warehousing and distribution contract.As part of this employment, I played a pivotal role within the branch, with responsibility for the recruitment and day to day schedules of the HGV drivers both full-time candidates and temporary staff, I raised the profile of the business and its key clients through the management of advertising campaigns and multi-tasked efficiently to ensure the completion of business administration including the management of the temp aid system and branch budget managementI was particularly proud of achieving excellent results in exceeding strict, predefined monthly targets.I successfully built the business three-fold due to an unprecedented initiative to personally acquire new, external clients.
