Amanda Vesely is a Student at Kent State University at Kent State University. Colleagues describe her as "Kind, upbeat, friendly, welcoming—these are the words that I would use to describe Amanda Vesely. She is someone that others flock to because of her charisma, light-hearted nature, and her ability to lift the spirits of others. No matter what is going on in your day, after one interaction with Amanda, your mood is guaranteed to be boosted. She has a unique way of immediately connecting with others, making you feel included, and showing that she values you as a person. This was Amanda’s first year being involved with the Kent State Leadership Center and I am so grateful that she chose to be a part of our team. Amanda is someone that our team looks to when we need to find the joy in an activity or in our day in general. She is funny, kind, and truly wants to get to know others, which in turn, makes us all gravitate towards her. No matter if you’ve known her forever or you just met, it’s easy to feel an instant connection with her because of her warm personality. In addition to her overall friendly nature, I would also say that Amanda is always looking at the idea of intent versus impact. She is skilled at seeing the “bigger picture” and often asks questions that challenges our team to think. Whether it is taking the time to see the potential impact a program or decision, asking whose opinion is not represented in the conversation, or making sure that our team is working on things that are truly meaningful to us, Amanda is always focused on people over process. She has been a wonderful addition to our team and has really made the work that we do more fun and fulfilling."
