Lead architect/Java developer of the International Airline Group (IAG) RESTful web services platform, a highly transactional system that interfaces BA.com, Iberia.com, mobile and operational applications to legacy airline systems.BA representative on the IAG secure application development board, responsible for ensuring code and infrastructure is not vulnerable to the OWASP top ten threats. Owner of REST API standards for IAG. Introduction of AppDynamics for identifying performance bottlenecks in code prior to transfer to production.Previous projects include APIs for developer.ba.com, email/SMS booking notifications prior to departure, enhancements to “manage my booking”, real time arrivals and departures, development of disruption and compensation systems as well as responsibility for delivering Java and OO training across BA.

Familiar was founded by the the team who setup Sun’s Java Design Centre. I was responsible for the server side development of a Intelligent Network solution for Cable and Wireless enabling their business customers to easily change the routing of call centre phone numbers. We were the first company in the UK to use WebLogic for a commercial delivery which lead me to a contract with British Airways to train their staff in Java and EJB on the fledging BA.com platform.
