I'd been interested in physics for awhile. I knew I liked it and wanted to to something in that field but I would need the educational background first. When my company, Mesa Airlines announced that it would be closing the Charlotte base, I decided to take my chances and go back to school instead of moving across the country. While at school I was able to get a position as an undergraduate research assistant with a professor who was researching new biomedical imaging techniques. I was lucky to work on that project, among others, and found out that I enjoyed the work. When I discovered the position of nuclear medical technologist, I knew I had to go for it.I completed my training and sat for the nuclear medicine boards in August, 2019. I passed and was awarded my R.T.(N)(ARRT). Since then I have acquired clinical experience in MRI and am pursuing a post-primary certification therein. I was hired by Novant Health in May and am currently working as a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
