I freelanced with Alban Digital as a Publisher and Social Media Consultant.In Nov 2015 I was a finalist with Alban Digital in The Hub Awards ceremony for 'Best Use of Digital' for the ROC5K social media & digital marketing campaign. I worked with my colleagues in a highly successful research team. Using my previous experience of compliance, monitoring and audit as a CRA, I helped ensure that we met our recruitment targets for academic and commercial clinical trials. My roles included managing highly complex Site Files, making sure we were fully compliant with data protection, helping find patients suitable for recruitment to clinical trials, ensuring informed patient consent and managing the team finances. I also ensured that approvals of trials and amendments were smooth via the IRAS/CSP system. I devised a facility to track clinical trial patients, amendments and the finance associated with commercial clinical trials, using bespoke spreadsheets and databases. I ensured there was effective communication between staff in the R&D Department, Finance Department, Healthcare professionals and colleagues from the Pharmaceutical Industry.

I worked as a Freelance Pharmaceutical Consultant combining my Medical Information and Clinical Research Skills. I became a locum Medical Information Officer for a Pharmaceutical Company where I worked in the Medical Department. As well as answering medical and technical enquiries from Healthcare professionals and members of the public, I also worked with the Regulatory Team. (Therapeutic area: Anti-depressants and Anti-psychotics)I also undertook and managed Phase 2 Clinical trials in both GP (Osteoarthritis) and Hospital (Oncology) across the UK. Ensuring full compliance with Clinical Trial protocols including patient consent.I was responsible for training a research naive Nurse who's work passed an external audit.

Clinical Research Associate involved in managing projects across the UK in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology & Smoking Cessation. This included everything from site selection, writing protocols, monitoring, audit to close-down. I organised all Investigator meetings in the UK and abroad and spent time in the Swedish HQ doing data entry. I was also credited for troubleshooting, fraud detection and overhauling previously out-sourced Clinical trials.

Amongst other duties I wrote and collated the in-house monthly magazine, covering product and medical updates, I managed the Help-line when a Nicorette became a Pharmacy product. I also approved all marketing material ensuring it complied with ABPI guidelines and accurately reflected what was evidenced in published clinical trials. I lectured the new Sales Team in Anatomy and Physiology as part of their immunology training course.

I was the top Representative on the Training course, despite joining a week late. Consistently good sales figures, being in the top 3 Reps during a new product launch. Passed ABPI exam in 1989.
