About Amanda Williams

I am the Special Projects Editor for NPR's 1A. I was previously in charge of the audience engagement events 1A hosts while on the road. I manage 1A's Remaking America project and produce day-to-day 1A broadcasts.I was raised in the Colorado Rockies and came to 1A by way of southern Virginia where I was a local newspaper reporter covering breaking news and education. I have a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary and I'm currently working on a Master's in Journalism from American University. When not producing events and shows for 1A, I'm most likely hanging out with my husband and our dogs, Chaco and Oshie, hiking or camping across the U.S. — or maybe just staying in, watching a Caps game.View my portfolio at amandawms.com.
