My name is Amanda Woehl, in 2014 I concluded the Industrial Design major at Universiade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). It’s been 6 year I graduated, and, in this journey, I made my best to learn and experiment all that I could inside the design field. I could create things that I’m proud and could learn with my mistakes.The first year of college I decided to work as an intern, rather them only learn inside a classroom. This helped me to gain experiences such as: learning to use software needed in specific areas of graphic design, adapt to different work routines of real-world companies.During college, I completed projects in several areas: furniture design, jewelry design, interior design, project management, and finished my degree with an automotive customization project. At the end of the course I received a 6 mouths scholarship at Wayne State University located in Detroit (MI) where I intend to acquire knowledge in transportation design and improve my english.After my graduation I started working at 2L Design Studio, where I created exhibition design projects, such as booths for trade fairs and POS design for marketing campaigns. Then I challenge myself to work with transportation design and started work at a custom shop. There I could explore with my artistic abilities, I create custom designs for helmets, bikes and cars. Everything thought on the exclusivity that the costumer wanted. I also began to work with social media management and how to create the atmosphere of a brand inside a company. That’s made my interest on graphic design to grow. It became more attractive when I saw the rage of opportunities that the digital area could provide. I became a freelancer them; this opened a huge field of opportunities; I could work with different clients and different products. Every project was different, so I always had to adapt my skills. I learn how to work with shorter deadlines, be more careful in how to collect information with clients in an efficient way, learn methodologies to improve my workflow, also, how to identify design problems and offer a smart solutions and work with collaborations from other companies and professionals no matter where they are located. One of this collaborations brought me in my current positions as creative director, where my primal goal is to create digital products that are user centered, to understand how are the relationship between the individual and the machine, how I can translate a complex system in something that a person can understand and interact in the most natural and instinctive way possible.
