Ms. Benedict is an appellate attorney serving clients with Longshore Appeals, Maritime Appeals, Criminal Appeals, Civil Appeals and Civil Rights Appeals. Ms. Benedict also assists litigators providing legal research and writing services. Ms. Benedict is licensed to practice in California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Benedict is a member of the firm's litigation and appellate teams. Ms. Benedict's litigation practice includes both defense and plaintiff representation. As a defense attorney, Ms. Benedict has a good working relationship with several insurance carriers advocating for their insureds in automobile liability, premise liability, and business liability matters. As a plaintiff's attorney, she is passionate about fighting for the rights of cyclists and motorcyclists who fall victim to inattentive motorists. As an appellate advocate, Ms. Benedict has represented clients before the California Court of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and successfully obtained Cert. review at the United States Supreme Court. She has submitted in excess of 200 appellate briefs, in a wide range of matters including maritime, criminal, professional liability, corporate, and family law.

Civil Litigation & Appellate Representation: Established law office in the summer of 2005. Appellate representation included criminal, civil, dependency, and family law matters. Represented clients in the State Court of Appeal and in Federal Court. Assisted other attorneys and firms with appellate matters and legal research. Personally prepared in excess of 200 appellate briefs and numerous appearances at the Court of Appeal. Civil litigation focused on plaintiff's bicycle accident matters. Successfully litigated case through jury trial in first year of private practice. Obtained several settlements exceeding $100,000. Proficient with all forms of computer technology including the use of social media as a means of networking and law firm marketing.

Criminal Appeals. Staff Attorney at a non-profit law firm which administers the appointed counsel system in California's Fourth Appellate District. Directly represented in excess of 100 appellate briefs. Numerous appearances arguing cases before the Court of Appeal. Argued three cases before the California State Supreme Court. Supervised the work of appointed appellate panel attorneys. Spearheaded the creation of the firm's first web site and the subsequent site re-design which is still currently in use. Published the firm's first on-line quarterly newsletter. Presented continuing education courses to other appellate practitioners.

Responsible for administering a large caseload, document control, preparing court pleadings, reviewing trial transcripts, and performing legal research. In April of 1997, transitioned to a law clerk position while completing law degree.
