As Associate Director of Regional Philanthropy, I connect generosity with opportunity to invest in transformative collaboration between families and schools! Together with the Executive Director, I steward the organization's largest, most complex regional philanthropy portfolio to ensure the health of Springboard's programming resources in the western United States.

As Interim Executive Director, I spearheaded day-to-day management for the organization during time of transition, ensuring positive positioning of the organization in the community, and a healthy, productive work environment for a staff of 10 and 800+ volunteer corps.Applying specialized leadership, I effectively bridged all facets of the organization to ensure continued and appropriate evolution of organizational planning; implementation and measured impact of all programs; and fiscal due diligence and compliance for a $900K+ budget. I also drove communications and served as key face in the community, representing the organization in on-air interviews, written articles, recorded campaigns, and cause promotions.

As program director, I lead our mission delivery team's implementation, development and evaluation of an integrated portfolio of programs targeting children, youth, and families serving approximately 5,000 individuals across San Diego and Orange County. Externally, I cultivated strategic opportunities for Words Alive within a growing network of 90+ community partners and represented our organization as a thought leader on multiple education-focused partnerships across San Diego county.Role Highlights Actively led impact and evaluation frameworks for 5+ years, with increasing responsibility for the planning, tracking, and execution of annual impact reporting to cross-sector stakeholders investing $900K+ annually in the organization. Created new cross-functional team tools, including a partner map to analyze external relationships, customized dashboards to monitor spending, cost calculators to forecast complex project costs, and a tracking matrix to quantify a new organizational KPI, resulting in improved transparency, efficiency, team communication, and opportunities to learn from internal data. Surpassed 10K+ hours leading highly reviewed trainings and group learning experiences among parents, K-12 educators and Title 1 campus leaders, and teams from civic institutions and CBOs. Imagined and delivered collaborative events with award-winning authors, museums, artists, libraries, and social-service providers, resulting in increased mission exposure in media and civic environments. Matured curriculum development processes to produce 50+ standards-aligned assets a year in multiple languages for use by diverse audiences and platforms. Adapted core programing to remote models and new environments during pandemic while launching new web, phone app, and social media-based content channels with 1.5M+ cumulative views.

Represented Words Alive at tables of influence, including Education Synergy Alliance's P3SD, Diamond Education Excellence Partnership, United Way's City Heights Partnership for Children, and Linda Vista Kindergarten Reading Readiness Network. Co-chaired breakout sessions focusing on the role of community partnerships in the P3 movement and use of smart data in the pursuit of equity in education at the Education Synergy Alliance's P3SD Conference in July 2017.

Conceptualized and oversaw two-year pilot of new Family Literacy Program in partnership with the Caster Center for Non-Profit and Philanthropic Research at the University of San Diego.Managed and grew a series of early literacy programs and the community partnerships that increased program access among participant population, including our organization's first fee-for-service contract with a community partner. Lead well-attended presentation on effective parent engagement at the National Council on Family Learning's Annual Learning Summit in Houston, Texas in 2015.

Designed and taught 2 discussion sections quarterly of 30 students each in history lecture series within intensive two-year writing program at Eleanor Roosevelt College, specializing in honors track content in analytical writing.

Designed and taught well received summer course on “Writing About Communities in Action” combining community service philosophy, study of social movements, service-learning field trips and analytical writing instruction.Coordinated service-learning field trips to supplement course content.Assessed student development and end of course performance.
