I completed a twelve week placement at Browns Plains Community Adult Mental Health.

I completed a seven week placement at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (BIRU) in the Princess Alexandra Hospital. I was responsible for the occupational therapy programs of a small caseload. This required initial assessment, formulation of goals and development a suitable treatment program as well as participation in the multi-disciplinary team case conferences, family meetings and ultimately discharge planning with completion of the appropriate discharge documentation. I was also closely involved with running the groups program with many clients from the Brain Injury Unit. This required advising on suitability of clients for various groups including upper limb, cognitive, community access cooking groups as well as providing feedback on client progress to the primary treating therapists. Several of the groups sessions were planned, resourced and run by myself and my student colleague throughout the duration of the placement.
