Writing and design to me go together like coffee and chocolate. Together, they have the ability to alter moods, provoke emotions, and change perspectives. It is a delicious symbiotic relationship that transcends the body, mind, and soul in a multitude of ways. All it takes is one word to catalyze an emotional response; one word to spark imagery in the mind. It is a freedom of expression and emotional generator that motivates us to keep living and experiencing the unexperienced. I love that writing and design are both intensely immersive. Both elements encompass unmitigated power that arise from the many simplicities of life: sights, smells, places, memories, experiences, symbols or objects. Writing to me is an unstoppable force that not only has the power to create moments and bring people together, but also has the brutal strength to break down walls and set the mind free. It is truly one of the great creative forces of the world that I admire. On the other hand, design to me is a creative outlet that allows me to channel my passion for intense research and penchant for creative, infectious writing by translating descriptive words into functional, meaningful, and experiential spaces. Design allows one to explore the physical world in a number of fun and new, interactive ways. As a lover of travelling and amateur photographer with a fondness for magical immersive experiences, I have always been in awe of and inspired by the atmospherical and culture-driven side effects that surroundings can have on the mind and soul. Whether the inspiration is thematic and fun, or ambiguous and abstract, it becomes a creative spatial or written landmark that leaves a permanent footprint on the individual.
