I was an Associate Executive Coach, working with KPMG colleagues to help them discover what they really want from their careers.Building a quick and positive rapport with coaching clients is key to my approach. I use a co-active coaching style, creating a safe space and bringing people to an awareness of the motivations affecting their decisions, before helping them create a plan for moving forward. I use a variety of interventions during coaching sessions to both challenge colleagues and help them overcome the barriers they perceive to be in place. These include exploring values and motivations, cognitive restructuring, working with objects, bodywork, chair work and prioritisation exercises.I also offer help with their job search by reviewing their CV, helping them prepare for interview and offering other support and guidance. This can be for jobs either inside or outside KPMG.This role is a great chance to combine my coaching skills with my project management and communication skills. I also help to facilitate coaching training to help spread the message that 'ask not tell' often gets the best from people.

I worked in the Internal Communications team, focusing on comms for the One Firm Event.The One Firm Event brought together all 13k KPMG people from across 27 offices for one day. The communications were complex, involving creating excitement, encouraging people to get involved, encouraging people to tell their stories, and ensuring all these groups had the information they needed.This was achieved through various comms channels using a more informal comms approach than usual.

When Global Marketing centralized its operations and moved to Toronto, I was appointed to design and implement the Internal Communication plans for the start-up (mainly expat) team. A key part of this role was to ‘market Marketing’ by promoting our work to marketers in all 144 KPMG member firms, and achieving two-way communication with this group. My role also involved ensuring the engagement of the Global Marketing team through team activities, regular meetings and social events.

I oversaw the development of the UK online Alumni Directory and refreshed website, advertising new features in regular e-newsletters to alumni to drive traffic to the website.
