FLUXSCAPES is a full-service design studio that specializes in adaptable design solutions to dynamic challenges. Our work ranges from research, exhibitions, and installations to master plans that integrate smart technologies at an urban scale.

In collaboration with Harini Nagendra, an ecologist and professor of Sustainability at Bengaluru’s Azim Premji University, this research explores the ecological, economic, and cultural roles of natural systems in the development of resilient urban landscapes. As rapid urbanization and climate change transform the ecology of our global landscape, rapidly growing cities like Bengaluru, India—projected to increase by 6 million people in the next 15 years—face multidimensional infrastructural challenges. Providing the human necessities of food, water, and shelter while also managing waste will prove difficult for these growing cities. Informed by the examination of Bengaluru’s past and present relationship to natural systems, analysis of Master Plan documents highlighting the proposed land-use changes in the city’s perimeter region (the peri-urban), and interviews with peri-urban community members, I aim to develop resilient urban design strategies that consider the socio-ecological role of urban natural systems. This research is funded by The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Dept of State.

As the Creative Lead of the ACSA, I work directly with all employees to manage the main ACSA brand and the subbrands including conference, competitions, Study Architecture, and IMADETHAT_. I create brand identity packages for each of our events (conferences, competitions, new brands). I manage the press coverage of the ACSA's announcements, email communication, and social media. Additionally, I manage the website for the ACSA, Study Architecture, Journal of Architectural Education, and the Technology | Architecture + Design Journal.

As a part of a larger multi-disciplinary project studying the viability and implications of the Interstate 11 corridor, my research studies the potential for bundling or coupling infrastructures to create a more efficient and effective conduit of infrastructure. Focusing primarily on transportation and energy infrastructure, the corridor will serve as a precedent for any next-generation infrastructure built in the Southwest region.- Graphics for publication - Publication Launch event planning- Bundling research for Conferences

Within this position, I serve to assist Kevin Stephens in the course of Professional Practice. I assist in scheduling, grading, lecturing, and facilitating field trips and firm tours to local firms. This experience will diversify my knowledge of the ever-changing profession of Architecture. It will open my eyes to further possibilities that a professional degree in Architecture affords each student. With an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for design, the possibilities are endless.

Founded in January 2012, IMPRINT.utk is a publication series from the students of the College of Architecture and Design at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. An annual journal and resource guide will be distributed each August. The Journal will publicize the scholarly work done within the College as well as interviews with invited critics/lecturers. The resource guide will help new students become acclimated with Knoxville as a city and UT. It will provide information to get them out of the studio and into the real world to explore the wonders of the Southeastern region.

As a teaching assistant for the Summer Representation 1 and 2 course, I assisted entering students in learning to not only draw but to comprehend the world around them enough to translate that into a series of representations. I was fortunate to witness 17 amazing students become critical and inspired designers who will surely make their mark on the world.

In partnership with Knoxville's PlanET and the MPC, a small research studio is analyzing and designing solutions for place-making strategies in six "centers": Pellissippi, West Town, Bearden, Downtown, Burlington and East Town. Connected by a bus rapid transit system (BRT), the city becomes a place for people instead of purely cars. The intention is to move past the car-centric planning strategies of the former few decades and make Knoxville a nice place to live, work and play.

Over the past century, transportation networks have been woven through the urban landscape drastically shaping urban centers causing gentrification, air and noise pollution along with many other issues. In order to make informed decisions about the future of cities, research about existing development will allow for a greater understanding of issues such as urban sprawl, public health and welfare as well as overall satisfaction of urban life. With nearly four times as many people living in urban centers and prospective increases to be made over the next 50 years, city planning should be assessed more thoroughly with regard to transit systems to make them more environmentally responsible and efficient. During my graduate studies, I will be studying sustainable urban design while working simultaneously with Professor Ted Shelton on this research.
