As a researcher, I analyze data to locate geospatial problems related to historical legacies of urban development. My specific interests include geospatial analysis, and urban historical geography as I highlight contemporary politico-structural disparities related to discriminatory urban policies. As a curious life-long learner, I am dedicated to in-depth qualitative and quantitative research/work that can improve communities and individual lives.As a lecturer, I educate future geographers as a lecturer in Human Geography and GIS courses. I love helping students discover their passion for this important field through investigation and practical application. As Director of the Geospatial Analysis & Mapping Lab at the University of Colorado Denver, I manage a team of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students who support a variety of geospatial projects for clients within and outside of the university. Our projects range from natural resource management to climate change to public health to historical mapping.
