My superpower is taking fuzzy ideas and making them into usable, consumable things. Those ‘things’ have included works of fiction, a patented digital storytelling platform, a healthcare SaaS platform, addiction recovery programming in a Mississippi prison, a civic imagination initiative, and dozen brands, cultures, and languages that breed perfect pitch decks to thriving companies. To name a few.Lunae, my innovation consultancy, helps good ideas come to life, by using human-centered design to build intuitive, intelligent tools, products, projects, and companies. My job is to work myself out of a job. Get it up, going, thriving — and then hand it off to the amazing teams that operate.As a Launch Lab, Lunae has been the zero-to-one design force behind Oria Health, Kith & Kin, Innovation Engine, and, most recently, Origin Story Health, a trauma-informed mental health treatment program leveraging structured, evidence-based treatments to help people heal from their lived experiences. My core passion is in the transformation of healthcare. With Origin Story Health, we’re on our first leg of value-based and data-driven care delivery that seeks to help therapy modalities and behavioral interventions to go from “healthcare” to “healing care.”I’m an advocate for patient civil rights, a data brain on health data compliance, a nerd on interoperability, and I am deeply committed to thinking through the hard stuff up to solve third-wave tech problems. After all, no one’s coming to do it for us. And if nothing changes? Well, nothing changes.Things that are easy to use are hard to build; things that are easy to build end up being hard to use. My job is to help organizations get “simple” right. Through thoughtful data architecture, simpler UI, and persona-driven problem solving, my teams help any organization make fuzzy clear, and ideas into things. In this season of burnout, providing for the providers is of the utmost importance. Working with a high quality team of clinical advisors, I formed a team and launched a strategy that spans delivery of behavioral healthcare services with an emphasis on the populations so often overlooked: foster children, populations on Medicaid, military families, those struggling with substance use disorder, and even those in incarcerated settings. In year one, helped grow to 25 therapists offering services full time, growing 6% MoM in the first 14 months.

Navigated the complex structure of major health plans and systems as well as the intricate relationship between federal government, state government, and private-sector managed care organizations. Served as point person to all three to design a platform that was responsive to government’s desire to see data-driven transparency and health plans’ individual approaches to assessment/coordination requirements.Worked CTO to build product roadmap and make infrastructural decisions for both a scalable platform and scalable company.
