• Create a strategic public affairs department at QFC, while simultaneously increasing Fred Meyer’s brand visibility in their top-grossing region.• Manage company’s $3 million philanthropy budget, including 350 corporate partnerships for 200 stores spanning the western region. Responsibilities also including vetting sponsorship proposals, negotiating contracts and implementing partnership elements that increase our brand exposure and position companies as leading community partner in the region. • Partner with local lobbyist and business leaders to combat legislative issues affecting the retail industry including the Columbia River Crossing, minimum wage, bottle bill and liquor initiatives. • Achieve earned media coverage for store openings, product launches, and community donations, acting as company spokesperson and developing crisis communication plans for food safety issues, store closures and product recalls. • Collaborate with departments across the companies to build local and community content engagement initiatives. • Explore, maintain and grow relationships with key industry social influencers to promote company initiatives, including product launches, promotions and special events.

• Managed $2 million sponsorship budget with 250 partnerships for 134 stores in four states. Responsibilities included the negotiation of contracts and implementation of sponsorship elements. Major sponsorships include: Portland Timbers, Special Olympics, and Broadway • Organized and executed corporate promotions and events including celebrity appearances and product and program launches (e.g., Murray’s Cheese Shop openings, partnership with Shell Fuel, and organic/natural private label launch). • Assisted with media relations including acting as company spokesperson and using traditional media, social media and blogger relations to consistently get earned media for the company.• Assisted with remodel and store opening activities including check presentations and ribbon-cuttings with elected officials. • Created a refresh for company website to include key features such as community involvement and career opportunities.

*Managed internal communication for a student-run public relations firm and helped the agency double staff to 40 members and client business to 11 clients. *Edited all published materials for agency clients including Muscular Dystrophy Association and Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.*Managed hiring process for entire agency team of 20 practitioners.

*Prepared first community report for the company’s foundation, the Fred Meyer Fund.*Created content for community web page for Fred Meyer’s external website.* Assisted with the execution of key volunteer events. *Wrote and pitched press releases to announce the company's grant awards and garner coverage from markets including Portland, Seattle, and Coos Bay. *Coordinated the first-ever Fred Meyer Fashion Show to showcase Fall apparel and raised $2,000 for America Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
