Served as senior advisor on political, security, United Nations, and sanctions dynamics, as well as strategic communications, to the Special Representative for North Korea. Provided strategic support to the reorientation of U.S. policy on North Korea by analyzing effectiveness of direction negotiations with Pyongyang and producing briefing papers for Congress and the White House.

For the U.S. mission to the United Nations, served as senior advisor to two former U.S. Ambassadors to the United Nations, with specific expertise on UN peacekeeping reform, UN budget reform, and international human rights. Led charge to deepen international consensus on case for UN sanctions against election spoilers in South Sudan by forging coalition of foreign governments and NGOs.

As the youngest special assistant on the team, served as lead advisor and analyst to the Deputy Secretary of State U.S. policy priorities for sub-Saharan Africa, multilateral diplomacy, U.S. foreign assistance, and international law. Launched U.S-Africa Trade and Investment initiative with African heads of state and U.S. tech leaders at the UN.
