I work at Peoria Public Library's North Branch location- we see lots of foot traffic from all over the greater Peoria region. Most days here is a mix of on desk time working with our patrons vs off desk time working on goals and specific tasks. I am responsible for holds processing- I handle upwards of 3500 items each month. In addition to that I am focused on library weeding project, consortia policy management and programming.

I worked as one of three staff (1 full time, 2 part time) in the Office for La Z Boy Furniture Galleries in Peoria, IL. This store was a collaborative team who worked together on sales goals. Main responsibilities were answering of phones, scheduling furniture pick ups and deliveries, writing purchase orders, processing credit card payments, initiating credit card approvals, and various other office/clerical duties. This La Z Boy store was a part of a 4 store operation out of Springfield, IL. The owners were very nice and generous, often giving bonuses to staff when sales goals were reached. The Peoria store in particular fostered a family type of atmosphere. I really enjoyed my time working here.

East Peoria, Il

Implementing configuration changes to the software (SirsiDynix) for the member libraries. Working with Enterprise to help configure Discovery catalog. Doing any project assigned to me by my boss. Assisting in committee meetings and workshops as needed. Providing friendly and helpful customer service over the phone, in person and through email. I am on three work committees/teams, those being the Staff Learning Team, the Staff Communications Team and the RAILS Employee Committee, where I serve as the chair of that committee.

Galesburg, Il

The Friends of the Galesburg Public Library is a volunteer organization who aims are to support the Galesburg Public Library without involving itself in library policy. As the president, I preside over all meetings, prepare agendas and coordinate information for meetings. I also assist in book sale planning and operations. I do various social media coordinating and I am the owner of the Friends' facebook page.

Counted money, used SVT, SVP for transactions, was helpful and friendly to the customers.

Shelved books, learned the Dewey Decimal System, worked with SirsiDynix software, answered phones and implemented projects aimed at facilitating the patrons' experience.

Worked both in Access Services (shelving, ILDS bags and atrium desk) and Archives (updated the vertical file, clipped and copied newspaper articles onto acid free paper).
