I study the 'social life' of data and digital technologies to influence impactful and equitable decision making. I am especially interested in data ethics, epistemic justice and statistics in decision making (eg establishing causation).I am currently a Senior Policy Adviser for Data and Digital Technologies at The Royal Society, the UK's national academy of sciences, where I lead our programmes on Privacy Enhancing Technologies and Data for Society/Inclusive Data (currently focussed on Digital Assistive Technologies). I previously completed research fellowships with the Columbia University's Council for European Studies and the Fulbright Foundation (Hungary), and worked for several years as a research consultant on a number of human rights and justice issues in London. When I'm not doing the above I am often singing with the London Symphony Orchestra chorus.
