These Climate Reality Leaders work to educate the public about the reality of climate change and promote both local and global solutions. The Climate Reality Project supports the work of more than 1000 climate reality leaders in Indonesia and more than 45.000 in 190 countries around the world. Dewan Nasional Perubahan Iklim (DNPI), the National Council on Climate Change, was Indonesia’s national focal point that is responsible to coordinate climate change activities and to strengthen Indonesia’s position in international climate negotiations.

At the 2007 United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Bali, Indonesia with more than ten thousand participants, I was appointed as Chair to the Secretariat of the Conference’s President, Indonesian Minister of Environment.I was instrumental in organizing the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2007 Outreach Events in Indonesia, attended by cabinet ministers, government officials, scientists, activists, and journalists.
