As an enthusiastic and innovative educator, I’m passionate about creating dynamic learning spaces that support the whole student. I want to help people love learning by building environments where they feel safe, seen, supported, and smart.I grew up as a student who loved learning but hated the school environment. There was no room for me to be me, so I shrunk until I was hiding in plain sight. Before I had considered entering the education field, I had many experiences that shrunk my world and altered my view of myself. These experiences used to haunt me, and I blocked them out of my mind. Now, they are part of my story, and my motivation for pushing forward in this field to ensure no student feels the way I did.One of the major visions for my career is Expansion. After shrinking myself and my voice for so long, expansion feels scary, but I know it is necessary. As a professional I am learning to reclaim my voice and take up space. I know as I grow, I will expand the world of my colleagues and professionals around me.
