Amanda is a filmmaker, speaker, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of mental health care, storytelling, and technology. She has produced over 100 films and multimedia products about mental health - with clients including Columbia Psychiatry, Sutter Health, and Stanford Medicine. Drawing on her own lived experience, she is focused on elevating complex topics like youth psychosis, trauma, and recreation therapy. Since age 18, she has given over 150 talks around the globe sharing resources and her own personal story. Amanda currently served on the Mental Health Advisory Panel at Google and the Interdepartmental Serious Mental Illness Committee (ISMICC), and she formerly served as the youngest board member for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Amanda graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in Human Development. She wears many hats - she is the co-founder of two social enterprise companies: The Giving Gallery and neuroHealth, both focused on mental health and philanthropy. Additionally, she is a Specialist for the Center for Applied Research Solutions, a nonprofit that supports state and federal mental health initiatives. Outside of work, Amanda’s hobbies include rock climbing and mountain biking, and she holds a black belt in Kung Fu and Kenpo. A fun fact: she embraces an alternative and adventurous lifestyle…she DIY built her own van in 2022 that she lives in full time as she travels around the country promoting advocacy and awareness.
