If you asked 15-year-old Amanda what she wanted to be when she “grew up”, she wouldn’t have known. If you ask me today what I want to be when I “grow up”, I still don’t know! What am I doing if I don’t have a goal? My goal is to always be learning, growing and enjoying. Some would say a leader is developed, not born, unless you are talking about me! I was the first born of a twin set and was always the “bossy one” of the pair (still am!). I told my sister what we were doing, when we were doing it, and why! From age ranges 3 months to 6 years, I assisted in the day and afternoon care of children in a care taking area. I began my time as the preschool afternoon teacher with stimulating outdoor play time and calming activities until parents arrived. I moved over to our 3 year old classroom to assist in their basic learning areas (letters, number, etc). I ended my time at Hope Learning Center caring for our newborn class until I left to pursue further education.
