One of my biggest strengths is caring for others and helping them when they need it. That’s what drove me to initially start my career path in retail. By being a sales associate, I was able to help people find items they were looking for, all while providing them with a kind demeanor they felt they could trust. Starting in retail gave me many of the skills I needed to grow as an individual. I developed soft skills such as communication, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail, all while learning the ins and outs of retail systems. I quickly picked up each point-of-sale system and was able to communicate with customers in a timely manner without making them feel rushed.Some of the skills that I expanded upon were: - Time management & organization- Basic retail transactions (payments & refunds)- Clear communication- Listening skills- Positive attitude- Conflict resolutionThese skills I learned in retail helped me transform into my current role as a Process Manager. In this role, I apply for building permits, utility interconnections, and a few USDA renewable energy grants for a solar contractor. Included in that, I use my time management and attention to detail to perform basic office tasks and compile final binders for customers to have at the completion of their project. I do have some interaction with customers through phone and email conversations, also utilizing my clear communication skills and positive attitude. I firmly believe the customer comes first and I approach communication with them in a kind and caring manner to help them know they are an important customer to our business.I have held a volunteer position at a service dog organization for around 10 years, which only fuels my desire to help individuals who are in need. Training a service puppy or helping an individual get placed with a service dog that they need is so rewarding. I have also received and held my FAA Drone Pilot License for 2 years.
