Public health researcher with a passion for improving access to quality health care for medically underserved populations. Areas of expertise include Hispanic/Latino health and disparities, health care access and quality, public health policy, and qualitative research methods. Current research includes a policy-focused qualitative study funded by the National Cancer Institute exploring the experiences of Hispanic/Latino communities with genetic testing for hereditary cancer (NIH 3R01CA237118-02S1). Ten years of experience conducting research on language access in health care for limited English proficient populations in the US. Field experience working in global health and education in Peru, Spain, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and South Africa. Currently, Health Policy PhD student in Political Analysis at Harvard University and RWJF Health Policy Research Scholar. Master of Public Health graduate from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health in Global Health and Maternal and Child Health, and graduate of Rice University in Global Health Technologies. Fulbright Scholar (Spain) and co-inventor of the DoseRight® Syringe Clip, a patented device that helps prevent overdosing when using an oral syringe to administer liquid medication.
