About Amanda Keating

I’ll admit it. I’ve been a bit of a serial entrepreneur.I know first hand what it’s like to start a business, grow it, and get to the spot where you know you just can’t handle all the details anymore. It’s hard to hand over projects that you hold close, but I also know how great it feels when you break through that ceiling. You realize that because you’ve been able to focus on what you’re good at, you can trust others to help you.I’ve built a team that loves their work, but the heart of what we do is serving our clients. After a great chat with a client about a new creative solution, I feel energized and excited at the unlimited potential. Technically, I suppose that could also be the espresso. Either way, it means I’m keen to round up the team and start applying our expertise to tackling your creative projects! We measure our success by your business’ success! The biggest compliment for me is how much our clients trust the Citrine Design team to listen, share opinions and bring our ideas to life.Let’s schedule a chat and sort those piles on your desk. Let’s see what we can take off your plate. Help us learn more about you and your business, so Citrine Design can help your business soar!– Amanda

Owner

Citrine Design Co.

Canada

We're Team Citrine! A creative graphic design studio made up of a mighty trio of Canadians. Amanda, owner, design lead and big thinker. Grace, our lead cheerleader and design + illustrator superstar. Kim, the witty, scotch-loving traveller who keep the projects moving, and deadlines hit no matter where in the world she is.Together we are a human-first, grow-in-the-discomfort, out-do-our-last-best kind of creative team. We show up for each other, do work that we're really proud of and then head out to enjoy life away from our work spaces. We know what we know really, really well and we're open and curious about what we don't. Getting to know and grow with our clients is one of the biggest sources of pride for us all.

Creative Director

Steeped Tea Inc.

Ancaster, On

I joined Steeped Tea as a Creative Director as they were getting set it grow ahead of a successful deal on Dragon's Den that was about to air. My time with Steeped Tea was short but impactful. I oversaw the rebrand with an outside agency, hired and lead the in-house creative team. As a team we took Steeped Tea from a small business to a national brand by overhauling their catalog design and experience (their strongest sales tool). We updated and expanded the marketing efforts, re-designed the website, created training and sales tools and many other design related projects. Like many small businesses there was little in the way of procedures and project management, so I lead the creation of our project management system, label proofing and approval processes. I also created an in-house photography studio and trained my team on basic photography. When I departed for maternity leave the brand value had increased dramatically and the company was growing fast and strong. Sales consultants who'd been with the company before I joined commented frequently that the work my team and I did had a big impact on their businesses, and that made me incredibly proud. It was time for next adventure!

Dec 2012 - Dec 2013

Owner / Creative Director

Ferris Wheel Creative

In June of 2008 when a studio I was working for moved offices, I decided to return to my freelance roots and started a new graphic design company, Ferris Wheel Creative. I integrated photography into my offerings, as well as put a focus on logo development, print design and building brand consistency through design.I began to hone my design style, focusing on clean and beautiful designs that worked hard for my clients. My work increased my clients perceived value and helped them make meaningful gains in their markets. One of those clients was Steeped Tea. They made me an offer that I accepted and joined them full time as Creative Director in December 2012.

Jun 2008 - Dec 2012

Co-Founder, Vp Of Style & Marketing

Shebella Inc.

SheBella Inc. was co-founded by myself and Julie Khan. We each had our own businesses at the same time. For a couple serial entrepreneur friends it was a fun side business that allowed us to hang out and run a business at the same time. We filled our cars to the brim with beautiful, affordable fashion accessories and set-up temporary boutiques in the homes of their hostesses, giving them lots of free product for great sales. We started doing events on our own to keep up with demand, some days doing as many as 3 events a day each. We knew we were onto something great, we had more business than we had time! It was time to build it bigger. We incorporated and developed our unique approach to direct selling world, our Fashionista Independent Consultant Model. The first Fashionistas hosted parties all over Ontario with incredible success! With the shift to support our growing sales force Julie and I moved into our leadership roles. I dug into the company brand using my skills as designer and a lover of all things accessory! I dedicated my time to building the SheBella personality and style throughout the company. I carried our brand across our marketing materials, office paint colours, desk designs, trade show displays, hands on the whole way. I naturally moved into our lead buyer and trend watcher! I built close relationships with our suppliers which gave us exclusive access to products and price points. A highlight was travelling to China with a supplier to source and purchase our first direct from factory designs. Our sales force were incredible. I learned so much from them and it was an honour to work along side them. I loved talking one to one with them, learning how we could better support them, and working through solutions to make the company better as we grew.

Feb 2009 - Dec 2011

Creative Director

Thorogood Communications

Part of a dynamic team that is all about clean, striking design that create real results for our clients. Also, a photographer with a variety of experience.

Feb 2007 - Jun 2008

Creative Director

Small Town Designs

As a baby entrepreneur and buddy designer I cut my teeth working with small town businesses. Offering design solutions that were affordable to micro businesses and not-for-profits. I loved connecting with local businesses and often times being the first graphic designer they invested in.

Jul 2006 - Mar 2007

Creative Manager

Ekg Marketing Inc.

For a young designer fresh out of school, I had the enviable position of lead in-house designer at this boutique design agency. Under the mentorship of a talented agency freelancer I worked on two of 3M Pharmaceutical top brands; Aldara™ and Qvar™. I had to be creative while working within the strict guidelines of pharmaceutical advertising board, PAAB. During my time I designed national ad campaigns that included materials such as direct mail, shelf talkers, coupons and sale tools. The team at 3M were thrilled with the work and both brands saw increases in business as a result of work I was a part of.
