With the Austin Police Department’s Emergency Communications Division, I supervised the day to day operations of 911 Call Takers and Dispatchers. I reviewed criminal reports to better assess situations or issues and determined the best course of action along with demonstrating quick decision making in high-stress situations. I analyzed sensitive criminal information for active investigations while utilizing available resources, such as Versaterm and SQL Server Reporting Service, to aid research efforts. I would gather statistical data into a collective report on 911 operations in order to disseminate to my team.

Still within the same department, I performed routine dispatching duties in addition to extra research efforts needed for active emergency calls. In a day, I managed anywhere from 5-50 officers/detectives/specialized units during emergency and non-emergency calls while I would multitask different high priority incidents simultaneously. I would also perform historical data and background searches to safeguard emergency personnel and citizens.
