I am grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had. It has been extremely fun and enlightening to learn from others and grow as a person and an educator. I am also grateful for all of the elementary students that I’ve taught who laughed 😄 at my jokes. This made all the difference. Thank you.The past 6 years of teaching in a public, Title 1 school have been rewarding. I was able to impact lives in the most meaningful way. I used drama and theatre🎭 education to help students learn to communicate and express themselves. I was nominated for teacher of the year twice by my peers. I have had the pleasure of writing theatre arts curriculum for the Georgia Department of Education. Working with stakeholders, managing schedules, and planning instruction are just a few of the highlights of my daily life as an educator.Professional Facts:Currently pursuing my EdD in Curriculum & Instruction 👩🏽‍🎓👩🏽‍🏫I have a Bachelor's and Master’s in Theatre Education. 👩🏽‍🏫🎭📚⭐I am currently doing professional development courses in Project Management and UX Design, with anticipated completion dates soon. 💻📝I have taught and mentored students in K-5. 😎💕🎉I have led professional development for my peers and within the community. 📖🏢🏫✏Personal Facts:I have a smart, hilarious, curious 9-year-old son who says I was one of his favorite teachers.I absolutely love fitness, meal prepping, and anything having to do with the gym.I love reading nonfiction and was even a Reading Bowl (kind of like Scholastic Bowl) coach for 4 years.I am originally from Illinois, and I am trying very hard to remain a Bears fan.I love learning new skills and teaching others cool things I learn. Short Term Goal(s):I plan to transition to a career outside of the classroom. I plan to reach a PR in squats of 190lbs by the summer.Long Term Goal(s):I plan to become an integral part of a company that values its employees and has an outstanding organizational structure and culture. I plan to create a tool that helps make arts integration easier.
