High Alpha Innovation is a Venture Builder, we launch venture-backed startups and new startup studios with corporates, universities, health systems, and municipalities, then support those companies through the venture studio model. As the leader of the talent and network functions at High Alpha Innovation, my job is to meet smart and interesting people, introduce them to our model, and figure out how to work together. I built and manage the process and team responsible for recruiting the executives and founders with whom we launch our portfolio companies. I also oversee the support of our companies, lead our network & platform programs, and support our internal people operations function. Founder & Executive Recruiting - Built and manage the founder & executive engine and team, responsible for recruiting dozens of CEOs, CTOs, and other executives for new launches of venture-backed software startups every year - Implemented executive compensation framework and maintain as market dynamic shifts, lead the design and negotiations of offer packages for founder and executive roles - Source independent board members for a wide variety of spaces and industries and assemble equity packages for board seats of our portfolio companiesPortfolio Company Support - Post-launch, I partner with founders and serve as an advisor to portfolio companies in all things HR and talent including recruiting, organizational design, headcount planning, compensation philosophy, equity allocation and foundational HR systems and processes - I manage the team responsible for the studio support of recruiting talent into our portfolio companies, my team has hired hundreds of software engineers, designers, product managers, GTM roles, and more on behalf of our portfolioNetwork, Platform, & CommunityHuman Resources - Lead all people operations for our internal team of 40 including hiring, employee relations, benefits, compensation, org design, and more

When High Alpha's portfolio company, MetaCX, announced their $14M seed round, I spent part of my time in a dedicated talent role inside of MetaCX building out their executive team, in addition to straddling my time with High Alpha and High Alpha Innovation

• Executive recruiter for co-founders and executives for newly launched portfolio companies and for our internal venture capital needs including CEOs, CTOs, and other leadership roles• Partner with studio CEOs and leadership teams from inception to develop and execute on organizational design, headcount planning in relation to funding, compensation philosophy, employer branding, and recruitment strategy• Manage full-cycle recruiting for a variety of executive and technical roles, hired 88 employees for 8 portfolio companies in 2018, 30% of which were executive positions, 50% technical, and 20% for other areas of the businesses• Serve as a brand ambassador at speaking engagements, volunteer opportunities, conferences, seminars, networking events and career fairs • Contribute to new company ideation, due diligence, sprint weeks, having directly contributed to 12 studio company launches• Own implementations and administration of all recruiting and HR software and systems, implementing individual licenses for all portfolio companies• Manage strategic partnerships with universities, diversity groups, and others• Serve as the leader of the Blue Angels, cross-portfolio women’s affinity group
