★ Serves a key role driving project management, growth strategies, and delivering bottom-up operations and administration leadership to a community with 42K+ residents through sound management and budget oversight.★ Utilizes financial acumen to analyze and recommend direction for the municipal budget and capital/special projects plan. ★ Provides analytical and research support to a city that offers full-service utilities (natural gas, water/wastewater, electric, and telecommunications) in addition to traditional municipal services.★ Combines in-depth and complex research expertise to analyze methodology, positions, or organizational structure to achieve program results and department initiatives. ★ Focus on transparency by ensuring municipal website and social media maintain current and accurate information, and ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and the Virginia Public Records Act. ★ Collaborates with internal/external stakeholders to track project efficiencies and effectiveness, aligning goals with relevant mandates and stakeholder expectations.★ Fosters positive employee and public relations, engaging new hires through New Employee Orientation and elected officials through New Council Member Orientations and City Council retreats★ Develops critical administrative policies that direct city-wide operations.★ Coordinates official responses to legislation potentially impacting the City, works with state and federal representatives as well as municipal lobbyists to research and identify fiscal and operational impacts for the General Assembly’s Commission on Local Government.★ Oversaw a parking study as part of the downtown redevelopment initiative, delivering three new parking areas in the downtown area with no negative impact on development corridor aesthetics.★ Oversaw the development and analysis of an employee survey, creating department specific work plans to proactively address any issues.
