Project engineer responsible for supporting the LensCrafters retail division and high-volume manufacturing plants with managing installation projects, testing leading edge technology, commissioning equipment, performing root-cause analysis, training operators and maintenance personnel, and implementing process improvements to drive the success of over 900 U.S. locations.

Engineering project manager for multiple $1.3M automated sortation systems and multi-location mechanical, electrical, and computer equipment upgrades. Responsibilities included scheduling, calculating cost justification (ROI), equipment testing and commissioning, vendor management, and hands-on training for operators and plant personnel. Provided technical troubleshooting and support for 35 automated plants across the U.S. Developed class-based training for engineering peers and training documents for operators and plant management. Additional projects included alternate part testing, equipment modifications and design, and process improvements.

Researched labor-intensive cellular manufacturing to develop a model for industry to use to determine the optimum number of machines and operators required for a product line of various small parts. First, this model set up manufacturing cells for similar products based on the machine required and the assembly process. Then the model was manipulated to minimize downtime with the ideal number of machines and operators present.

Performed time studies, modified process layouts, and developed process improvements to develop labor standards for multiple projects in the distribution center. Conducted equipment ROI analysis for new equipment and assisted managers with various projects.
