As Risk and Compliance Manager, I work with all teams and across all levels of the business to ensure business risks are identified, profiled, escalated and mitigated appropriately. I am also responsible for keeping abreast of relevant current and developing legislation and industry codes and ensuring operational compliance with requirements.

Cleanaway Waste Management is an ASX100 company and Australia's largest provider of sustainable waste management solutions. In my role as internal audit and risk specialist, I was responsible for monitoring business operations to ensure adherence to internal and external requirements, with a focus on safety and the environment. Further I worked across the business to ensure appropriate identification, escalation and mitigation of risk through implementation of appropriate controls. In my capacity as the company's Carbon Specialist, I was responsible for identifying and optimizing revenue opportunities associated emissions reductions, as well as monitoring and applying relevant legislation to ensure compliance with carbon reporting requirements. My role entailed emissions profiling and reporting both internally and externally and working with management to set abatement targets and implement strategies to reduce Cleanaway's environmental impact.
