President and Chief Executive Officer of Cauda Equina Foundation. Our mission is to improve the quality of life and care for individuals living with Cauda Equina Syndrome. I ensure fiscal responsibility, quality education for patient's and healthcare providers, highly effective patient support programs and outreach, responsible research, member privacy, and advocacy for universal inclusion and patient rights. I am goal-oriented, highly motivated, creative, and strive to inspire my team to reach for a better future for our organization. I guide partnerships, collaborations, and relationships with government agencies, nonprofits, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and research companies. Before that, I was a Level III Registered Respiratory Therapist with experience in the adult and pediatric critical care and emergency care settings. There, I was a mentor, preceptor, educator, and team builder. I developed clinical education, hosted clinical seminars, and developed clinical policy from evidenced-based research. I participated in research studies as a clinician and researched asthma and autoimmune disease. Currently, I develop clinical & patient education seminars and literature on cauda equina syndrome and cardiopulmonary disease. My research interests include neuroscience, neuronal remodeling and regeneration, functional electrical stimulation, cauda equina syndrome, arachnoiditis, adhesive arachnoiditis, epidemiology, socio-economical impacts of chronic illness, standards of care in disease process, and pathophysiology. I have been a speaker at the Food and Drug Administration and participated in many patient and caregiver lead initiatives at the FDA. I am involved with The National Organization of Rare Disorders and connect with the National Institute of Health. I am passionate about my profession and improving life for individuals with chronic disease, and I strive to spark that same passion in others through empowerment, encouragement, and enthusiasm for the job at hand.
