I am going into my Junior year of college at Mount St. Joseph University. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education and minoring in Spanish. I am interested in teaching a kindergarten or first grade class when I graduate so that I can make an impact on children every day. I am currently gaining experience by co-oping at St. John's Westminster Preschool. Why do I want to work with children?I have worked with children ever since I was in seventh grade. I began by babysitting full days in the summer a few days a week. I currently spend my entire summer watching children. During high school, I tutored children in grade school for two years and then eventually started to work there as well. While working at St. James, the kids brightened my day . This is why I want to go into teaching. I am just getting started in my career but I am excited to enter the field and have the opportunity to work with children. I am working at a preschool now and have been introtuced into the classroom through some classes at the Mount.
