I am a survivor advocacy professional with experience in training development and workshop facilitation. As an experienced advocate and case manager I'm deeply passionate about supporting survivors from an intersectional and culturally competent perspective that takes into account survivors' multiple identities and lived experiences. I have expertise and demonstrated experience in improving anti-violence organizations' abilities to outreach to and better serve LGBTQIAP survivors.I have been supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence for nearly a decade, working in the field as a survivor advocate, crisis responder, case manager, forensic exam accompanying advocate, violence prevention educator, and support group facilitator for LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic violence. During my experience in the field, I consistently worked with domestic violence and sexual assault service providers on a local and national level to improve their capacity to better support LGBTQ+ survivors through community-specific training, technical assistance, and changes in policies and procedures. I currently oversee and manage the National LGBTQ Institute on Intimate Partner Violence where I create and deliver training and technical assistance, organize policy advocacy work, and develop research and resources that expand the capacity of public and private agencies to provide culturally-relevant, survivor-centered, LGBTQ intimate partner violence intervention and prevention services.
