I guide clients through cross-sector planning and execution of complex projects, ensuring processes are inclusive of diverse voices and result in meaningful impact. Areas of expertise include multi-sector plans to drive community- and state-wide systems change, aging & human services networks and government operations, stakeholder engagement & management, and public health programs and planning.

• Led the cross-sector engagement, development, project management, and continuous improvement of the Governor’s California Master Plan for Aging (MPA), a ten-year blueprint comprised of five goals & twenty-three strategies, with over 200 initiatives for implementation across the Governor’s Administration.• Identified issues of public policy, organizational, and network importance, and collaborated with cross-functional teams spanning the Governor’s Cabinet and state departments, as well as external partners to achieve the Master Plan’s budget, policy, and program goals, such as a establishing a statewide No Wrong Door network, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia prevention & preparedness, and direct care workforce initiatives.• Established strategic partnerships with stakeholders, legislators, and philanthropic and state partners to leverage and align resources to raise the visibility of the MPA, the Department of Aging, and California Health and Human Services Agency.• Ensured public and stakeholder voices were included through several mechanisms, including the coordination of six stakeholder advisory committees and associated subcommittees who advise on and provide oversight to the MPA on topics such as data and research, equity, elder justice, and community living.•Catalyzed local engagement and age-friendly planning through the development of the MPA Local Playbook, leading workshops, and providing technical assistance, and the development of a $4.5 million dollar local age-friendly planning grant program.•Provided transparency and tracked MPA impact by authoring progress reports; development of an MPA Implementation Database; and development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Data Dashboard for Aging through collaboration with the Department of Public Health and research institutions.

• Launched the Department’s Healthy Aging Initiative to align resources and improve program and service delivery targeted to older adults.• Led the strategic planning, facilitated workgroups and steering committee, and coordinated Department input to California’s Master Plan for Aging• Presented to internal and external stakeholders across California on the intersection of aging and public health.

The Fusion Center represents the vision for becoming the public health department of the future; one that is proactive, transparent, collaborative, outcome-driven, and able to respond to constantly changing conditions. • Coordinated special projects for the Director’s Office to align resources across the Department’s centers and offices to nimbly address emerging public health issues; collaborated with executive management and external stakeholders to identify and communicate department priorities and strategies• Provided project and program support, including budget proposals, reports, grant applications, research, and policy analysis.• Led teams and collaborated with programs across the Department to design and implement opportunities for engagement, increased internal communications, and capacity building.• Developed grant proposals, work plans, and evaluation methods for team projects.• Oversaw communications and strategic planning for the Director’s Public Health 2035 initiative, including organizing town halls, webinars, and podcasts and writing speeches and talking points.

Purchased a struggling café and performance venue and increased sales significantly within 6 months. Manage the daily operations, including supervision of eight employees, food and beverage preparation, inventory, scheduling, event planning, book keeping, marketing and branding, and customer and vendor relations.

As WMC transitioned from a basic urgent care facility to a primary care home and Federally Qualified Health Center, built and directed the prevention-focused side of programs and services:• Collaborated with clinical and administrative staff to successfully integrate health care principles and practices with community health education to achieve target health outcomes across patient and community health domains.• Launched and managed three new programs: A Culturally Competent Population-Based Approach to Preventing and Managing Diabetes; Building Health Literacy via Community Collaborations; and Nourish to Grow (food security).• Designed and procured health education materials and curricula and trained interns, volunteers, and clinical and administrative staff on health literacy, health education principles and practices, and cultural competency in accordance with organizational goals.• Established strategic community partnerships by serving on multi-sector committees and health assessment workgroups, as well as facilitating a local health literacy and education advisory committee comprised of leaders from partnering social service organizations.

Designed surveys and analyzed qualitative data for a community-based diagnostic study on nutrition in low-income districts of Santiago, Chile; incorporated primary and secondary data into a report on national and municipal health statistics, wellness policies, and health promotion strategies; redesigned a program evaluation for the International School on Popular Education. Executed the delivery of environmental health education programs in predominantly low-income communities: • Established organizational and programmatic priorities and strategies; managed complex work plans; successfully garnered grant funding and in-kind donations to expand services and create new programs.• Recruited, trained, and deployed volunteers in accordance with organizational goals.
