Amanda grew up in the French Alps and gained a first Masters Degree in Environmental Risk Management in Grenoble before deciding to move to Scotland where she completed another MSc in Environmental Protection and Management. She worked as an environmental consultant for the Scottish Agricultural College from 2007 to 2011, specializing in Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems and Environmental Impact Assessments.Having dived recreationally since age 17, Amanda decided to change careers in 2010 and followed her dream of becoming an occupational diver. After graduating from The Underwater Training Centre (Fort William, Scotland), she worked in the onshore industry around the UK on construction and welding jobs, before becoming a CSWIP 3.2u inspector. Amanda then worked offshore on UWILD projects in Asia and the Caspian sea for a few years before deciding to move to Australia.During her 5 years as a Dive Officer for Macquarie University, Amanda supervised a variety of scientific projects, from shark tagging to sediment coring. She also became an onshore supervisor and ADAS Trainer, then a Training and Assessment Manager, delivering ADAS courses in collaboration with University of Tasmania, both in Sydney and in Hobart. She joined the Board of Directors of the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme in 2016.Upon leaving Macquarie University, Amanda resumed work as an occupational diver and took on Dive Officer responsibilities for the University of Technology Sydney.In 2020, along with her husband and two children, Amanda relocated to New South Wales (Australia) to take over from Rob Gatt as the Executive Director of the ADAS.
