About Amanda R.

I lead diverse teams on substation and renewable projects that keep the lights on. I am an agile impact contributor on several strategic areas, including off-diesel reduction in northern communities, wildfire response, and technical evaluation of investment opportunities. In 2023, I proudly connected over 100 MW of solar power to the Alberta power grid. With over 14 years’ experience in the utilities, my expertise spans over solar and renewable design, distribution and power system planning. I was also part of the engineering team for two 500 kV 1,000 MW HVDC converter stations as part of the $1.6 billion Eastern Alberta Transmission Line project.Amanda's unique superpowers:+ A mother of two: professional negotiator, strong decision-maker, risk manager, safety coordinator, and curator of life experiences+ Personality "paradox" which results in adaptability and being able to translate big business vision into execution. A paradox means - uniquely 'centered' personality with equal extraversion and introversion, equal big-picture thinking and detail-oriented+ Has defined core values: accountability, transparency, environmental stewardship+ Critical-thinker+ Coachable & self-initiated learner+ Mentor
