As a final year research student, my focus is on 'The seasonal synchrony of water quality parameters in the chlorinated effluents discharged to urban rivers'.

As part of my final year comprehensive design project, I collaborated with a team of six members to propose a comprehensive upgrade of the existing Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at the Pelwatte Sugar Company and design a new service building. Through in-depth research and analysis, we developed innovative solutions to improve the WTP's efficiency, sustainability, and capacity.

As a compere at the 10th International Symposium on Advances in Civil and Environmental Engineering Practices for Sustainable Development, ACEPS-2024, organized by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Ruhuna, in collaboration with Saitama University, Japan and the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. I effectively managed the flow of events and engaged the audience with my dynamic and informative hosting style. This experience allowed me to hone my public speaking skills, build confidence, and contribute to the overall success of the conference.

As Treasurer of the Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group at the University of Ruhuna, I successfully managed the group's finances, overseeing budgeting, fundraising, reporting, and providing financial guidance.

During my time as a Civil Engineering Trainee at ECO International Engineering Consultants PVT. LTD., I had the opportunity to work in both design and construction environments. In the design office, I focused on learning how to use industry-standard software programs like Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, MIDAS, and Tekla Structures. These programs are essential tools for civil engineers, as they help us create accurate and efficient designs for buildings and other structures.After gaining a solid understanding of design principles and software applications, I transitioned to a construction site. Here, I observed the construction process of a 5-story steel building for AQUA Dynamics Pvt. Ltd. This experience allowed me to see firsthand how the theoretical concepts I learned in the design office are applied in real-world projects.

As Vice President of Education for the Gavel Club, I played a crucial role in organizing and facilitating meetings that fostered a supportive environment for members to develop their speaking and communication skills. Through my leadership, I implemented innovative activities and provided constructive feedback to help members improve their confidence, clarity, and overall public speaking abilities. My contributions to the club's success have equipped me with valuable leadership and interpersonal skills.

As a member of the Rotaract Club of the University of Ruhuna, I actively participated in various community service initiatives and leadership opportunities. I honed my public speaking skills through compering events and contributed to projects such as Warna, an audiobook launching ceremony, and Creative Hub, an online webinar series focused on graphic design. These experiences have allowed me to develop strong interpersonal skills, a passion for giving back to my community, and a commitment to personal and professional growth.

As an organizing committee member for the robotics competition organized by the Electrical and Information Society at the University of Ruhuna, I contributed to the event's success by emceeing the competition. This experience allowed me to further develop my public speaking skills and gain valuable insights into event planning and management.
