Research and design practitioner helping businesses make more informed decisions on how to make products and services more usable for people. Currently working at Ascension Health as a Design Research Lead, focusing on improving surgery scheduling. Most recently, I explored how surgeons might increase their OR utilization through block suggestions and release functionality, how to reduce same day cancellations through integrated software, and how Ascension might reduce patient safety events through improved short-term surgical tray management. Over the past 3 years, I have helped Ascension rethink and redesign the billing experience, introduce a unified billing and payment experience through the Ascension One patient portal, roll out more consumer-friendly medical bills in Texas, explore how to reduce inequitable financial assistance processes and policies, improve the AscensionRx prescription transfer services for employees, and sequence a more usable surgery scheduling find a time block and open time user interfaces.Prior to Ascension Health, I worked as the product manager of Bayer’s global design system, Element. Before that, I coordinated and led innovation initiatives at Wells Fargo Advisors for nearly five years. Review my Experience section for my full work history.I serve on the board of Sherwood Forest, chair their Programs Committee, and support the current programs evaluation task force. My aim is to 1.) advocate and act with purpose toward inclusion and equity that fuel human possibilities, and to 2.) put a mirror up so businesses can see how processes, policies, and services might be improved for longevity.
