At Jones Day, Anshul Mangal was a member of intellectual property law practice group, concentrating on patent litigation. He represented clients in patent cases in federal courts nationwide, as well as before the U.S. International Trade Commission.Anshul represented clients such as Abbott, Kyocera, Nikon, Motorola, and Freescale in patent cases in federal courts nationwide, as well as before the U.S. International Trade Commission, in a wide range of technologies, including biotech, semiconductors, cellular telephones, digital cameras, medical devices, and computer hardware and software.He drafted pleadings including complaints, answers, initial disclosures, discovery requests and responses. He also prepared motions and oppositions to motions including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, infringement contentions, invalidity contentions, responses to these contentions, and briefs related to claim construction. He helped prepare senior members of the litigation team for depositions and helped prepare witnesses for depositions including expert witnesses. He is experienced in leading document production, document review, and privilege review. He also conducted research and wrote memoranda on numerous patent, trademark, and copyright issues.Anshul also represented a number of pro bono clients. He volunteered for the Heartland Alliance's National Immigration Justice Center, which provides legal services to low-income immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, and for the Lawyers for the Creative Arts, an organization that provides free legal services to artists. He led a team of five attorneys and successfully obtained asylum for a Pakistani refugee and helped obtain asylum for a Tibetan refugee. He also volunteered for WITS, which is an organization that promotes literacy among youth, and provided one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to children.
