Working on a material flow optimization project

I interned at this B-Corp for a year during my MBA at Babson. I reported directly to the CEO and COO for projects related to overall profitability, inventory management, and demand forecasting. I worked with multiple teams including sales, supply chain, and customer service department. During my time here, I helped the company with its products on Amazon and increased profit by 6.9%. I worked on developing an inventory monitoring system that reduced inventory costs by 12%. I was also able to provide senior management with data to help them negotiate with distributors and increase profitability by 5.3%.

I led a team of 7 employees including sanitation engineers and sales staff for their composting business. I was responsible for increasing our customer base, maintaining service for current customers, inventory management, and increasing profits. I joined the organization at a stage where they were growing their composting business. I was able to grow their total customer base by 215% from 20 clients to 63 in a year. Successes at the job included the reduction of travel costs by 25% through geographical plotting of customer locations. Additionally, demand forecasting of raw materials helped save 30% in procurement costs.
