The purpose of the internship was to help the organization understand development, execution and handover of successful projects. During the primary research, the construction phase was first analysed. Bottleneck activities which included lean wastes were identified. Data was collected by visiting the site at different points of time as well as for different duration to get a holistic view of that project. This study was achieved using Process Mapping, Process Flows, Gemba Walks, Time and Motion Study,etc. Secondary Research was done on the latest methods businesses around the globe are using to bring in efficiencies in their processes as well as achieve quicker turnaround time for their projects. Problem solving approach DRIVE has been also used. Application of Lean Management, TQM, PDSA cycle, Kaizen,5S, LPS, etc has also been studied.Procurement ( Purchase Requisition and Service Order) which is the back support of site operations as well as Sales and Marketing which is the front player were also studied as they play a major role in this business ecosystem. The power of data analytics was used to analyze the processes and look out for improvements. Observations such as Work load management, communication gaps, process inefficiencies, lack of standard SOPs, undefined lead times of processes were found and analyzed using pareto charts, 5 Whys, ICOR and CEDAC. Brainstorming sessions was done with the techno commercial team and the project teams in order to do a RCA of the above observations. This project has provided various concrete solutions to various improvement opportunities for operations of different domains within a project. The solutions has been appreciated and acknowledged by experienced professional at construction site and at management level. Application of the suggestions has been ensured in different projects of the company in order to be competitive in the current competition, be future ready and to be the top realtors of the country.

I was involved with a mega project worth Rs.10,000 crores, a project of national importance. During my training, I had worked in the planning department managing and coordinating with 2 different project managers and their teams regarding 8 work cycle monitoring and improvements. I had come up with solutions to resource absence problems such as dumper management and machine maintenance. I was shifted to execution thereafter where I used to handle two work fronts, a team of 24 workers, had to manage several resources such as drill jumbos, excavators, explosive slurry vans, etc. I had created a record at the site where I increased the productivity of support installations by more than 40%. Finally at last when the quality head was impressed by my performance at the site chose me to work in his team as a quality engineer when I was absorbed as a Senior Engineer.During my time as a QC Engineer I used to monitor 5 work fronts to ensure work is done as per standard work statements, doing various tests as per our client DRDO's ITP, coordinating with batching plant during mass concrete works, preparation of monthly reports and submittals to clients, managing everyday client visits as well as addressing and solving their concerns. Having tested more than 100 reinforcement bars and ensuring the successful installation and billing of 10,000 bars and concrete tests for 25,000 cum, I have made a lot of business for my company.
