Roles:- Working a shift rota in a NOC environment , providing 3rd line ‘VIP user’ support compiling with company SLA- Configure and support customer’s servers, running a number of operating systems, including Linux and Windows Server based platforms both remotely and onsite- MS Server 2008 & 2012- Datacentre Ops (Cabling, Racking, Cooling, Security, Fire Supression, Power Management)- Project Management - Projects are Fun!- VMware vSphere 5 and 5.5 Inc all the goodies, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, Clustering- Respond to any alerts raised by the monitoring system for customers servers and the companies own infrastructure- Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies – TCP/IP, Ethernet, ADSL, VPNThe core target of this role is adherence with SLAs based on the nature of the situation whilst providing the customer with a technical solution in a professional manner. Another vital area is working as part of a team providing a conjoined knowledge base for each of the members, not everyone knows everything!

2nd Line Support- Supporting around 40 different countries over 20,000 users- Day-to-Day Server Administration Tasks- Investigation and Progression on complex issues- Multi-Backup Solutions support, Backupexec / Ahsay primarily- All aspects of windows desktop support- Writing progress and statistical reports for supervisors and managers- Support and troubleshoot software application and services including, Windows XP/7, Office 2007, Internet Explorer, Server 2003/2008, Active directory/Group Policy and Terminal Services

- Working with employees to identify computer problems and advising on the solution - Reporting directly to the manager and collaborating closely with other IT team members- Responding to queries regarding software and hardware issues, in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring queries were always resolved to the user’s satisfaction- IT security experience including anti-virus/malware and encryption deployment- Testing and fixing faulty hardware equipment using a variety of in-house tools- Document and maintain help desk policies and proceduresClose team working and collaboration were key to success here - along with stringent monthly KPI targets to satisfy business SLAs.
