Amarinder is an architect and service designer who is fascinated by cities at large, and engages with them through lenses of inclusivity, intersectionality and sustainability. He works at an intersection of design, research and policy to build field-based narratives for social impact.Amarinder's work experience spans the informal housing and disability sectors. He was the project lead at the social enterprise mHS CITY LAB (working in collaboration with JPAL, MIT) to address the safety, quality and affordability of housing for the urban poor in India. He has a background in universal design and has worked with Vihara Innovation Network (for LIRNEasia) as an ethnographic researcher to understand the use and barriers to use of ICT and assistive technology for people with disabilities.Amarinder's current work focuses on investigating issues of vulnerability of women and queer people in accessing public green spaces from a service provision and design standpoint with empathy and care at the core of his process.
