Our best defense against the threats of ID is a strong and well-equipped workforce of clinicians and scientists who specialize in ID medicine. Thus, our work centers on building a robust and diverse pipeline of ID professionals ready to help overcome the ID challenges we face today and prepared to take on those to come.Each year, we invest hundreds of thousands of dollars toward ID research for trainees and early-career investigators. At the same time, we retain intellectual property by engaging seasoned ID researchers and clinicians to serve as mentors for our early-career scientists.The IDSA Foundation is supported by individual donors, corporate partners and corporate and institutional grants. With IDSA supporting the Foundation’s administrative costs, 75% of every dollar donated goes to direct support of our programs and initiatives.
