Originally founded to commercialize a broad patent portofolio licensed from the University of Illinois, our products now serve needs in the sports, fitness, cosmetics, defense, and healthcare industries. MC10's investors include multiple strategic players across diverse industries. In my role at MC10, I report directly to the CEO. I came in originally responsible for strategy, product management, and market development, after which my role expanded in scope to include marketing communications and public relations. My staff includes product management, strategy, and marcomm professionals.Highlights of our accomplishments at MC10 include: * the development and launch of the Reebok CheckLight, a first-in-class sports impact indicator for creating personalized feedback for athletes who are exposed to the risk of head injury* platform and product definition for next-generation wearable electronics products for consumer and healthcare markets* exploration and validation of new market opportunities in the consumer electronics, consumer health, pharma and biotech industries* brand development and public relations that have produced numerous mass media corporate and product feature stories

Cellanyx is developing novel cancer diagnostics that exploit the unique insights that arise from the physical and biochemical interactions of cells with their microenvironment. The company's technology includes novel proprietary microfluidic assays that enable the quantitative analysis of cellular mechanics, and create objective and precise biomarkers for cancer diagnosis.As a member of the founding team, I supported the technology innovators in the development of the company's early technology, product, and corporate strategy.

Pavilion Medical Innovations is a medical technology incubator founded by notable clinical innovators Dr. Al Chin and Mike Glennon (http://www.pavilionmi.com/). I worked with this world-class team to explore market and product opportunities and develop go-to-market strategies in the obesity and diabetes therapeutic areas.

Update: Lyra Therapeutics IPO'd in 2020 and listed on NASDAQ (ticker: LYRA)Arsenal Medical was founded by serial innovator-entrepreneurs George Whitesides and Bob Langer, to commercialize medical products that incorporate novel and proprietary materials technology. The company focuses on developing material systems that achieve exponentially superior mechanical performance, while preserving favorable and well-established safety and biocompatibility profiles. In my role on the executive team, I defined the company's key platforms and products, including the lead product, a best-in-class fully bioabsorbable self-expanding peripheral cardiovascular stent. I also developed relationships with pharmaceutical and clinical partners for Arsenal's drug delivery materials platform, with applications spanning wound healing, trauma, and pain therapy. The company divided into two entities in 2011: one focused on the absorbable stent platform (480 Biomedical), and the other exploiting a powerful suite of medical materials platforms (Arsenal Medical).

This highly selective fellowship grooms young professionals for leadership positions in startup environments, including as founders and in executive roles. I was selected among the first several classes of fellows, and continued my involvement in subsequent years as a leadership volunteer. The program has now grown from its Boston roots into a global organization boasting over 1300 alumni, spanning 24 chapters across 4 continents.

I developed and launched cardiac surgery medical devices at Boston Scientific (formerly Guidant). A highlight of my time at Guidant was working closely with serial innovator Dr. Al Chin.My product development experiences span early concept development through manufacturing, regulatory approval, market launch, and post-launch field support. For my innovations in product design, I was honored as the BSC Cardiac Surgery 2006 Innovator of the Year.

My interests in convergent technologies began at Surface Logix, a Boston-area venture-backed start-up in the life sciences space. I developed physical and computational tools to increase the efficiency and performance of the drug discovery process, ultimately leading to several compounds that entered clinical development.
