Hello! I’m currently a freshman at UNL with a passion for entering the medical field as an ophthalmologist. By majoring in biochemistry under the pre-med track, I’m on a journey to explore the dynamic intersection of science and society, attempting to uncover the ways in which science can be harnessed to address the worlds biggest challenges.For the past few years I’ve gained valuable, hands-on experience through two consecutive summers spent working at the university of Nebraska Medical Center Center (UNMC) in a biochemistry lab. These immersive research experiences have allowed me to get exposure to the application of medical technology, fortifying my commitment to going into the medical field.During my high school years, I had the privilege of serving as president of the debate team, where I not only honed my communication and critical thinking skills, but also had the opportunity to mentor and guide a team of 30 to 40 enthusiastic debaters. This experience not only taught me the value of effective teamwork, but also the importance of cultivating a growth mindset.
